Paper cone sleeves are the lightest, most flexible option in our cone range. They're printed on paper stock rather than board, so they wrap tightly around any cone, fold flat in a carton and cost less per piece than heavier materials. That combination makes them the everyday choice for high-volume counters: scoop shops pulling hundreds of cones on a summer Saturday, soft serve windows, fairground stands and stadium kiosks.

When Paper Is the Right Material

Paper is not the strongest sleeve material, and it doesn't need to be for most cones. Choose paper when:

• Cones are eaten within a few minutes of being served, at the counter or on a short walk.
• You serve sugar, cake or standard waffle cones with one or two scoops.
• Storage space is tight. Paper sleeves pack more densely than board sleeves.
• You want the lowest cost per cone while still printing your brand on every one.
• You change designs often for seasons or events and don't want to hold heavy stock.

Choose something heavier when cones carry three scoops, sit in a holder for a while, or hold hot or greasy food. In those cases our thicker cardboard cone sleeves keep their shape better.

Types of Paper and What Each Does

"Paper" covers several stocks, and the one you choose changes the look, feel and drip resistance of the sleeve.

All paper sleeves can be printed CMYK or PMS, and finished with gloss, matte or spot UV. Gold, silver and rose-gold foil and embossing work on paper too, though very fine embossing shows more clearly on heavier stock.

Getting the Fit Right

Because paper is flexible, a paper sleeve forgives small differences in cone size better than board. It still needs the right dieline. The flat sleeve is a curved fan, and the angle of that curve must match the angle of the cone. A dieline cut for a steep sugar cone will gape on a wide waffle cone; one cut for a waffle cone will bunch on a sugar cone. Send us the rim diameter and height of your cone, or post one, and we'll cut to fit. If you serve two cone types, order two sizes with the same artwork.

Glued or tuck-closed?

Most paper cone sleeves arrive pre-glued and flat; staff open them with a thumb and drop the cone in. Some shops prefer a flat, unglued sleeve that wraps and tucks around each cone, which takes a few extra seconds but packs flatter still. Tell us which suits your workflow.

Everyday Tips for Paper Sleeves

Paper takes on moisture, so keep cartons sealed and stored away from freezers, dish pits and dipping cabinets. Pull out only what a shift needs. Planning quantities for a season

Because paper sleeves are cheap to store and quick to print, many shops order in several smaller batches rather than one big run. Start with the cones you sold in the same month last year, add a margin for good-weather weekends, and reorder when you're down to about two weeks of stock. A summer stand might order an everyday design in spring and a second run of a holiday or Fourth of July design closer to the date. That keeps fresh artwork on the counter without a storeroom full of last season's sleeves.
